KPOP Demon Hunters shattered Netflix records by becoming the most watched movie in Netflix history with over 600 million views, and it also stayed in the top ten movies for 52 consecutive weeks. If you have never heard of the movie, it’s an animated story about a girl music group that is protecting humanity from demons. There are themes of girl power and finding yourself along with some great vocals and a few bangers, including the radio-played song “Golden”.
Although the movie isn’t the only impetus, it is part of what got my family interested in KPOP, or Korean popular music. Anyone who is familiar with KPOP can tell you, it isn’t just about the music. It is also about the various group, the dancing, the group dynamics, and the personal lives of so-called pop idols. Learning more about these popstars includes learning about their pups.
BTS
Considered by many as one of the original KPOP groups, you’re likely familiar with “Dynamite”, “My Universe”, or “Butter”. BTS has a tour dog that travels with the band and provides emotional support while touring. Stoney Blue is a miniature goldendoodle owned by the tour manager. Members are often seen cuddling him before going onstage, and there’s even a YouTube video about him.
Stray Kids
With huge hits like “God’s Menu”, “Case 143”, and “Maniac”, Stray Kids has legions of Stays (fans) who attend world tours in droves.
Bang Chan is the group’s leader who also happens to be Australian. He has a female Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Berry, who is well known as the only female pet for the band. She has appeared in the music video for “Boxer” and even has her own Instagram following.
P1Harmony
Although not quite as well known, P1Harmony has also headlined world tours and has a number of popular songs including “Killin’ It”, “Sad Song” and my favorite: “Fall in Love Again”. Featured dancer and member Soul is the proud owner of two dogs: Mochi and Kinako. The two cute pups are both Frenchies and live in Japan. Soul loves his dogs and often talks about missing them when touring. There are lots of cute photos and videos of them online.
Enhypen
Recently this band went through some changes as they lost a member, but they are a Vampire-inspired group known for “Fever”, “Bite Me”, and “Polaroid Love”. Member Jake is also known for his cream Border Collie named Layla who was born on Halloween. Sometimes she and her human are referred to together as “Jayla”. There is also a fandom wiki devoted to all of the pets of Enhypen. There are some cute fluffballs on there!
Although your pet might not be as famous as some of these popstar pups, he is likely just as loved! Pets don’t need a lavish lifestyle to have a happy, loving, quality life. Love and one-on-one attention are some of the keys to a happy pet. Pets just need you and maybe some support from your village!
If you need help with regular walks or drop-in pet sit visits to give your pet the attention they need, Peak City Puppy can help. We love pets as much as you do, and we’re happy to step in and shower them with love whenever the need arises. We might even sing them some KPOP songs.
